Starbucks Keto Drinks Quick Facts
Choose Unsweetened Almond Milk – Starbucks non-fat, 2%, and whole milk contain roughly 12g of carbs per cup. Unsweetened almond milk gets the job done with only 1g per cup.
Heavy Cream Instead of Steamed Milk – Steamed milk is a common ingredient in many coffee drinks but it’s unsuitable for a keto diet. Instead, ask for half heavy cream and half water.
Stay Sugar-Free – Unless you’re ordering black coffee or espresso it’s a good idea to mention that you want your drink sugar-free. Many drinks at Starbucks come with sugar, sweeteners, or syrup.
Keto and Skinny Are Not the Same – On average a skinny drink made with non-fat milk, sugar, and flavored syrup still has around 19g of carbs. Don’t be fooled, skinny and keto are not the same.
Skip the Whipped Cream – Whipped cream is full of sugar and carbs.
Say No to Drizzle – Yes the flavored syrup on your coffee looks fantastic and tastes delicious but you need to be strong and avoid drizzling on your coffee.
Bring Your Own Sweetener – Most packets of sweeteners have 1 gram of carbs and sugar in them. If you plan on using more than 1 sweetener with your drink I suggest having your own with 0 carbs such as Stevia, Monkfruit, or Whole Earth.

Starbucks Keto Drinks:
1. Black Coffee (0g carbs)
Starbucks Pike Place Roast, Blonde Roast, and Dark Roast coffee are all 100% carb-free.
If you need to brighten up the flavor of your Black Coffee reach for Almond Milk, and if you want to sweeten the drink bring a packet of your own Sweetener from home.
2. Nitro Cold Brew (0g of carbs)
In case you’re not familiar with Nitro Cold Brew Coffee, it’s essentially a slower steeped smoother version of traditional Starbucks coffee.
Nitro refers to the infused nitrogen which sweetens the drink without any sugar or flavor boosters. The gas gives this coffee a velvety texture. If you’re thinking this sounds familiar, you may have experienced nitro gas in a beverage before if you’ve ever tried Guinness beer.
If you’re feeling adventurous you can add any sugar-free syrup to your Nitro Cold Brew for extra flavor.
3. Espresso (2g of carbs)
A traditional Doppio Espresso(1.5oz) has only 2 grams of carbs. This little caffeine-packed pick-me-up has no room for sugar, cream, or syrup.
Sure, you’re not getting any fat from an espresso, but you can get your dose of energy without having to count carbs!
You can also turn this into an Iced Espresso by ordering it in a Grande cup, poured over ice. If you don’t like pronounced flavors of coffee, I suggest adding a sash of Unsweetened Almond Milk and a packet or two of your sweeteners.
4. Keto Caffè Misto (2g of carbs)
Caffè Misto has only 10g of carbs, but you can cut that down to just 2g by ordering the drink with Unsweetened Almond Milk in place of the 2%.
A great fix for anyone who likes to have Caffè Misto regularly.
5. Keto Iced Coffee (2g of carbs)
It’s just as easy to order a Keto Iced Coffee as well.
Traditional Grande Iced Coffee from Starbucks has 4 pumps of classic syrup totaling 20 grams of carbs.
Switch that up for 2 pumps of sugar-free vanilla syrup and a splash of Unsweetened Almond Milk and you’ve just cut the carbs down to 2 grams.
6. Espresso Macchiato (2g carbs)
A basic Espresso Macchiato has only 2 grams of carbs even though it’s made with steamed milk.
If you want to cut the carbs in half, you can order this drink with steamed heavy cream instead. A little fewer carbs, but still exceptionally delicious espresso.
7. Keto Flat White (4g of carbs)
As you may be predicting, there is a simple way to turn a classic Flat White into a Keto-friendly drink.
Yes, once again the answer is Almond Milk.
Turn 14g of carbs in a Grande Flat White into 4g by ordering it with steamed Unsweetened Almond Milk or heavy cream.
8. Keto Iced Shaken Espresso (4g of carbs)
Perfect for anyone needing something to sip on during a hot summer day. This chilled espresso drink is like an Iced Espresso but it’s a little smoother and, by design, a bit tastier.
This trick helps cut the carbs of a Grande Iced Shaken Espresso from 19g to just 4g:
Order a traditional Grande Iced Shaken Espresso with Unsweetened Almond Milk instead of the traditional 2%. Remember to ask for sugar-free vanilla syrup instead of the classic syrup. Easy as that.
9. Keto Chai Tea Latte (4g of carbs)
No surprise here! Let’s see how to turn the 45g grams of a Grande Chai Tea Latte into just 4g.
Make sure you order a Grade Chai Tea Latte with the tea bag instead of the syrup. Ask the barista for 2 ounces of heavy whipping cream and two pumps of sugar-free cinnamon dolce syrup.
10. Keto Frappuccino (5g of carbs)
If you need a cooldown on a hot summer day, or just enjoy iced coffee, you can always grab a Keto Frappuccino. Just make sure to switch out the sugary base into something sugar-free and avoid any whipped cream or drizzle.
Here is how to cut the carbs in a Grande Frappuccino from 46g to just 5g:
Start by asking for a Grande Iced coffee with 2 shots of heavy cream and 3 pumps of sugar-free vanilla syrup instead of the classic syrup. Double blend the ingredients and voila, you have a Keto Frappuccino.
11. Caffè Latte (5g of carbs)
No need to give up your favorite latte just because you’re doing keto! All we need to do is switch up your order a little bit. This way you cut the carbs into a quarter but keep the fantastic taste of a traditional Caffè Latte.
Here is how to cut the carbs of a Grande Caffè Latte from 19g to 5g:
Ask for a Grande Americano with only ¾ coffee. The other ¼ is steamed heavy cream. It’s that simple.
You can also add flavor to your latte by 2 pumps of any sugar-free syrup to your coffee.
12. Keto Caffè Mocha (5g of carbs)
Love chocolate? Me too! Can’t imagine giving up all my favorite things for a diet, but sacrifices must be made. Luckily, you can still enjoy your Keto Caffè Mocha from Starbucks.
The innovative spirit of coffee lovers never lets me down, and with the help of sugar-free syrups at Starbucks, we can turn any simple coffee into a real treat.
You can cut the carbs of a Grande Caffè Mocha from 43g to 5g by following these simple steps:
Start with a Grande Americano with coffee filling only ¾ of the cup. For the other ¼ ask for heavy cream. Finish off by adding 2 pups of skinny mocha syrup to your drink. Make sure to avoid any whipped cream and you’ve got yourself a Keto Caffè Mocha.
13. Keto London Fog Tea (5g of carbs)
You bet you can have your London Fog Tea served the Keto way!
Ask the barista to exchange the steamed milk and milk foam with heavy whipping cream and ditch the vanilla syrup for two pumps of sugar-free vanilla syrup instead.
You just cut the carbs of your Grande tea from 29g to 5g.
